This explains what information Chessora ("we," "us") collects when you use chessora.online (the "Service"), why we collect it, and what control you have over it.
On this page
1. Information we collect
What we collect depends on how you use Chessora.
If you play as a guest
We don't collect any personal information. The name you enter and your game history are stored locally in your browser (localStorage) and never transmitted to us tied to your identity. A random, non-identifying guest ID is generated to keep your games grouped together during that session.
If you create an account
2. How we use your information
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising or share it with data brokers.
3. Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to operate Chessora, each of whom processes data on our behalf:
We may also disclose information if required to by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Chessora, our users, or the public.
4. Cookies and local storage
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in, set by Supabase Auth. We use your browser's localStorage to remember your guest name, your daily free-game count, your theme preference, and (for guests) your game replays — none of this is sent to any third-party advertiser. We don't use third-party analytics or advertising cookies.
5. Data retention
We keep your account and game data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we delete your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain records (for example, transaction records for tax or accounting purposes).
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below.
7. Children's privacy
Chessora is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll remove it.
8. Security
We rely on Supabase's infrastructure and access controls (including row-level security policies restricting who can read or write your data) to protect your information. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the data involved.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you directly.
10. Contact
